Ball Hockey, as many of you know, is such an addicting sport. To many it has become such a part of their life and they take it with them wherever they go in the world.

Bob Robertson from Delta Minor Ball Hockey Association is a perfect example of this. Upon arriving to a teaching position in Wujiang, China he has found that the kids at his school are extremely interested in anything Canadian. What is more Canadian than Ball Hockey? Bob quickly realized that this would be a great fit and has started a program at the school. Of course they had one small problem. They had no equipment.

Bob turned to the ball hockey community back in Canada. With sponsorship from Delta Minor Ball Hockey, West Coast Minor Ball Hockey Association, BC Ball Hockey Association, Ontario Ball Hockey Association and Canaian Ball Hockey Association they were able to get balls, sticks, goalie equipment and jerseys for the kids to wear. Of course it would take sometime for this equipment to get from Canada to China but that did not stop these eager kids. A factory close to the school manufactured some regulation hockey nets and away they went. With old broken sticks and whatever rag tag equipment they could find in the meantime it was "Game On."

The program started with 4 teams of kids both boys and girls but quickly has graduated into 12 teams and as Bob says "these kids just can't get enough hockey." In fact they were recently supposed to start there soccer program but the kids managed to plead enough to keep the ball hockey program going for 2 more weeks.

It is people like Bob Robertson and the thousands of others like him around the world who volunteer to assist with this great sport of ball hockey that make it such an amazing game and bring smiling faces to so many around the world.
